A Chance Match
We matched on Hinge in December 2019.
At the time, we were both spending Christmas in Birmingham, he wasn’t visiting family in Italy, and I wasn’t seeing mine in Lagos, so we were both a little bored.
We had great conversation and decided to meet up at a café. So, we did.
I thought he was great over the phone, but just in case, I told my friend to call me midway through the date.

From First Date to First Win
Silvio seemed a bit shy at first, so I suggested we walk to the nearby bowling alley that also had an arcade.
That’s when I discovered he wasn’t shy he just needed a little competition.
Naturally, I won most (if not all) of the games, and he had us go again and again and again.
He still lost… but neither of us wanted the night to end. We were having so much fun and just like that, the spark was undeniable.

The Best Yes
We officially got together just before COVID and have been inseparable since.
Fast forward to May 2024: we went on a trip to Phuket. He knows how much I love serene white-sand, blue-water beaches, and chose the perfect spot where he proposed, complete with an elaborate fire show.
I’m not sure how unique it is, but we truly value and enjoy each other’s cultures.
He acts like he doesn’t love Nigerian music, and I act like the Ghanaian accent doesn’t make me smile.
